Early Tuesday morning, Paris Hilton woke up to a nightmare. A man was trying to break into her home in Los Angeles, California, and he was holding two large kitchen knifes.
At 6:42 a.m., the suspect triggered the security system while trying to break through a window. The intruder started banging on the window, which woke Paris Hilton up. She could see the man on her security cameras, and she immediately called the police. Hilton’s publicist said, “The security cameras and alarm system were alerted and the police immediately came to the house and arrested the intruder who was attempting to break a window when they arrived.”
Police arrested the suspect, and he has been charged with felony burglary. The intruder, Nathan Parada, 31, has a history of felonies, burglaries and vandalism. Authorities are unsure if Parada knew the home belonged to Paris Hilton or if he simply chose it at random.
While police arrested the intruder, Paris Hilton took pictures to post on her Twitter account. She told her fans, “So scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding two big knifes. Cops are here arresting him.”
Hilton’s publicist commented, “Paris is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well. She is very thankful to her security team and the police for their swift and diligent response.”
