Car Alarm

What is included in a car security system? Some of the common parts include a warning light, dome light sensors, shock sensors, remote starters, keyless entry and control boxes. They all keep your car secure, deter thieves and offer safety.

Warning Light

The warning light is usually placed on the dashboard. Its small, blinking, red light warns thieves that your car has a security system. This visible evidence that your car is protected may be enough to deter car thieves.

Dome Light Sensors

When you open your vehicle door, a sensor automatically turns on the dome light, usually placed in the center of your car’s ceiling. Most dome lights also turn on when you unlock your car using keyless entry. A dome light is especially important to have at night. Before getting into your car, you can see inside to make sure no one is hiding in the backseat.

Shock Sensors

When somebody hits, moves or bumps your car, the shock sensor is triggered. Advanced shock sensors measure the intensity with which the vehicle is hit. Based on this measurement, the car alarm may simply give a warning beep for small bumps or an all-out alarm for harder hits. Simplified shock sensors will give a full-scale alarm for any small touch or movement; because of this, it will mostly have false alarms.

Remote Starter and Keyless Entry

With a remote starter, you can start your car with a push of a button while you’re still inside. When you go out to your car, it will be heated up, the windows will be defrosted or the air conditioning will have it cooled down. A remote starter is not only convenient, it can also keep you safe. For example, when walking through a dark parking lot, you can start your car from a distance and make a quick and safe getaway. Keyless entry is also convenient and a form of protection. With a quick push of a button, your car will be unlocked and you will be safely inside.

Control Boxes

Thieves will try to go around car alarms by cutting off the power source. However, control boxes prevent this because they are connected to their own power source that can not be disconnected. Control boxes are attached directly to the alarm, and when the control box triggers the alarm, the only thing that will shut it off is a security code.
