nelly 10,000 dollar reward burglary investigation

Cornell Haynes Jr., who is better known as the famous street rapper “Nelly”, is now offering a substantial reward for information leading to the arrest of the man who reportedly burglarized his home. This reward is set at $10,000, and will be paid by Nelly himself.

Earlier this month, a man broke into Nelly’s St. Louis home. According to the police investigation, it is currently being assumed that the thief entered the home by forcing his way through an open window. This same window was also used as the burglar’s exit point. The man is alleged as having been able to escape with a duffel bag filled with many expensive items, including several electronics and a large amount of video game equipment. There were three people staying at Nelly’s home at the time of the burglary. Of these three occupants, one is reported as having direct contact with the intruder. The burglar is described as being a man in his 20′s or 30′s, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, with a mustache and glasses. After being discovered by one of the occupants in the home, the thief fled the home.

After the burglary was reported, several police officers converged on the residence, searching for the escaped burglar. In this post-burglary search, police officers made use of a helicopter and scent tracking dogs. Though the search of the area surrounding Nelly’s home did not turn up the escaped thief, the investigation continues to be ongoing.

According to some reports from neighbors, some people did see a black GMC Envoy leaving the area of Nelly’s home around the same time that the burglary took place. Though the vehicle has not of yet been positively connected to the escaped criminal, county police officer Rick Eckhard stated, “Since this is a dead end road, we believe its the suspect’s vehicle. ”

It should be noted that the $10,000 reward in this case is stated as being paid for “information leading to arrest”, and not “information leading to arrest and conviction”, as are many cash rewards for information about criminals. Due to the nature of this reward, it could be surmised that Nelly is taking a large step towards helping law enforcement to catch the burglar who stole from his home.

The $10,000 reward was first officially announced by the organization “CrimeStoppers”, a telephone hotline that gives citizens a truly anonymous method to provide tips about criminals. This service is extremely important, since it allows ordinary people to help contribute to an investigation, without becoming directly involved. Crimestoppers also helps to facilitate the delivering of cash rewards to people who provide important information. Crimestoppers is able to achieve this level of anonymity by giving each caller a specific numerical code, instead of asking them for their name. With true anonymity, many people feel much more comfortable providing information to law enforcement agencies about criminal activities.

The local news station in the St. Louis area picked up the story as well, reporting the robbery as soon as it was discovered. The footage shown on the news story is said to be of a “burglary in progress”, and shows several police vehicles parked outside of Nelly’s St. Louis home. Nelly’s full name is used in the beginning of the news story.

Interestingly enough, the footage from Nelly’s security camera was also released during the investigation. In this video, you can clearly see an intruder in the residence. The intruder checks to make sure that he isn’t being monitored, then proceeds to examine many of the objects in the view of the surveillance camera. He moves around a chair while being recorded, though the reason for this seems to be a bit unclear.

During the time of the break in, Nelly was not at home. Instead, he was making a visit to sick children in an Atlanta hospital.
