Security Cameras

Have you ever been caught on camera doing something really embarrassing? If you have, you’ve probably learned to avoid cameras. Burglars have the same instinct – steer clear of cameras.

Installing security cameras around and in your home can be a great asset to your home security. If you don’t have the budget to install real cameras, consider putting up fake cameras. The only thing needed to run a fake camera is a couple AA batteries. A red light will blink to give the impression that it’s recording, and no one will know that it’s actually fake. Most burglars won’t want to risk getting caught on camera and will avoid your home.

If you do have the money for real security cameras and feel that you need them, digital video recorders are the best option. They have the clearest picture. When you install security cameras, you may want to consider remote surveillance. Remote surveillance gives you the option to check up on your home even when you may be miles away. For example while you’re away on a business trip or vacation, you can check on your home with remote surveillance.

One type of camera you can have installed is a bullet camera. Bullet cameras are small, but durable, and probably won’t be noticed. They can be used indoors and outside. A special kind of bullet camera can even be installed in your pool. Other models have infrared capabilities for nighttime. Most bullet cameras are used inside the home to monitor house cleaners or babysitters.

Security cameras are no longer just for the rich and the famous. You can have cameras, real or fake, in your yard and home to discourage burglars and protect your home.
